Ericsson is looking for a System Developer to create our future Networked Society.
You will work with Ericsson's market-leading Packet Core products and create our next generation (5G) mobile networks.
The position
The position is within the Packet Core Systems and Technology unit (S&T). As a System Developer (a.k.a System Manager) at S&T you will always work in the forefront defining the system solutions for the next generations of Packet Core. You will create and analyze (theoretically or by prototyping) implementation options for individual network functions as well as solutions for network level functionality.
As a system developer, you will participate in studies to formulate strategies for products and solutions that meet our customer’s demands. As a system developer at Packet Core Systems and Technology, you have an unique opportunity to be in the forefront of shaping the future core products. You will work with true technology leadership, interpreting market needs and technology trends into new product solutions. The position offers travels and interaction with our customers and other development sites.
Responsibilities
Analyze customer needs, translate them into use cases and functionality, and create system solutions and system design for implementation.
Drive technology leadership, we will expect you to propose and conduct studies, define proof of concepts and investigate pros and cons of different implementation technologies.
Work closely with our technical area leaders; be involved in early technical discussions, ensure synchronization between PDU Packet Core products and the 3GPP standard with regards to functionality and performance, in tight coordination with Product Management and Product Development.
Define detailed system solutions as part of participation in standardization work.
Take responsibility for system management artifacts, like use case descriptions, system design descriptions and standards documents.
Support Q&A activities in your competence area.
Cooperate with other Ericsson System projects e.g. Research, Radio and IMS.
In order to succeed, you need to have the following qualifications and skills:
We expect you to have a minimum of 5 years working experience in a relevant area, such as product development, Solution architect, system integration, product management or similar, connected to telecom or related technologies.
We expect you to be willing to work within a broad area, interacting with a broad network of technical experts, product line and others.
You are a curious person with a holistic view that likes to work with challenging tasks where decisions often need to be taken based on information from different stakeholders and investigations.
You enjoy working at the forefront with new technologies and understand that business decisions sometimes impact the technical solution.
You manage to drive your work tasks independently.
You are a team player with a positive “can-do” attitude.
MSc level in a technical discipline or the equivalent level of knowledge
Competence within one or several of following: telecom, IT systems, cloud development
Proficient in English and very good communication skills
You are a quick learner of new technology and products and dare to come up with own ideas on how to do things
You have focus and ambition to understand customer needs
Highly developed knowledge sharing & collaboration skills
And it is great if you have one or several of these additional skills and experiences:
Knowledge about Packet Core products and 3GPP standards.
Experience from system/service integration at customers.
Competence in communication services/IMS/QoS.
Competence in edge computing
Competence in massive & critical IoT.
Competence in routing/networking.
Competence in cloud development.
Competence in the area of characteristics.
