Scania is now undergoing a transformation from being a supplier of trucks, buses and engines to a supplier of complete and sustainable transport solutions.

We at Scania’s Powertrain Control System are looking at expanding our team of system owners to meet the future challenges in the automotive industry. The system owners has a central part in forming and developing future powetrains for all brands in the Traton group. We need to supply industry leading performance and functionality to keep our position as leader in the heavy-duty market.

The team

In the Engine System SW group we deliver the complete software for the Engine and Aftertreatment Control, which is one of Scania’s most advanced real-time control system.

The group is responsible for the complete engine and aftertreatment management systems. This includes system ownership, configuration management, iteration lead and release management.

We coordinate many groups work with software development and calibration of the software. Currently, we face exciting challenges in delivering our control system to several companies in the Traton Group that are based in Sweden, Germany and the U.S. The improvements we are making to our systems have an extremely large positive impact on the global environment over the next few decades.

Our group consists of experienced and outgoing people, with different cultural and educational backgrounds, as we see strength in diversity. We prioritize personal development and having a positive balance between work and private life.

Your role

As a member of the system owner team, you are responsible for one or more of our control system variants. This means, among other things, having overall control over what is developed and delivered. Follow up that internal and external requirements is handled by the organization and oversees the system roadmap to meet future challenges and needs. As a system owner, you ensure that development of the system is carried out correctly and that the system can be described in an overall way for various stakeholders inside and outside Scania to enable production and service.

As this is a very comprehensive system for both hardware and software including wide interfaces, we work in very close collaboration with other groups and roles in engine and electrical system development.

The work is varied and stimulating and provides great opportunities for competence development, creates important experiences, product knowledge and provides a broad network within large parts of Scania. This guarantees very good future career opportunities both within and outside the powertrain control system domain.

Your profile

We are looking for an engineer with a Master of Science degree or with equivalent knowledge in embedded systems or engine control. You have good communication skills, are structured and self-sufficient. You are good at leading and following up technical work in a large organization in an international environment.

The  domain is technically complex and developed to the best performance and standards on the market. The systems in this domain are key to function, performance and environmental impact of our products and an engineering background or strong engineering interest is expected. 

You are fluent in both written and spoken English (Swedish is meriting).
