Product responsible traction (m/f) for our location in Västerås (Sweden)

Do you want to be a part of the design of next generation products for Train propulsion systems? Products that meet modern requirements on energy efficiency and safety.
As a Product responsible for traction products, your main responsibility is to lead the development and maintain products for propulsion systems solutions and ensure delivery to customers wherever they are in the world.
In this role you will collaborate with other departments, suppliers and customers to ensure that the entire systems operate as intended and is well integrated to the train. You will have an overview of the entire propulsion system from components up to vehicle level.
Your main technical areas of responsibility is Power Electronics: Mechanical and Electrical integration and you will have a team to support you.

Responsibilities:
•Technical responsibility for Design and maintenance of propulsion products, including electrical, mechanical and functional conceptual integration
•Optimization and Standardization of the products to ensure competitive and cutting edge solutions.
•Consolidate and manage propulsion requirements coming from market and vehicle division.
•Technical lead for interfaces and open items towards customer and suppliers
•Provide expert support, lead complex technical issue investigations.
•Product cost , (DtC) and producibility (DfM)
•Support power lab tests, commissioning & homologation of propulsion systems
•Provide expert support for bids, including customer alignments & concept validation
•Provide training to field personnel and ensure validation of products in powerlab tests, commissioning & homologation of propulsion systems.

Qualifications:
•Education: Master’s degree in Power Electronics, Electrical engineering, Control Engineering, Applied Physics or equivalent;
•5-6 years of experience in propulsion system development for industrial applications;
•Experience working with Propulsion System, in the power field or with power electronics (electrical design)
•Experience from MATLAB is merited
•Experience with performance simulation tools for currents and thermal losses (TEP, APC Internal tool)
•Experience in rail industry is an advantage
•Experience from power modules is an advantage
•Strong technical leadership attributes are required
•Proficient ability to both read and write technical documentation;
•Problem solving skills, good communication skills;
•Experience from safety critical applications and/or EN50126/28/29 (or other related standards such as ISO26262, IEC61508 etc) is beneficial;
•English, business fluent, is mandatory for this role.
