System Project Leader, SPL - Exterior Front

At Exterior Front, you are part of a global cross functional development team with the task to develop and launch Volvo Car Groups coming car projects. You and your team handle all the system and components of Exterior Front which is a part of Exterior department. The department consists of approx. 125 employees and additional consultants. We are responsible for the development of Exterior parts for the whole range of products within Volvo Cars and the development are conducted in close cooperation with our suppliers. The development is mainly situated in Gothenburg but we also have employees in China and at our plants in Gent and Gothenburg. You will be working in a creative and passionate environment where the cars of the future are created. We are working in flexible cross functional teams that are adapted to specific project.

As System Project Leader within Exterior Front you will report to the Section Manager and be part of the Exterior Front management team. You will operate and manage a product development project against the set of objectives, on mandate of the Section Manager. You will be responsible from at least program confirmation and to final status report.

Main responsibilities

* Fulfill the commitment according to Time Technology Cost contract between Chief Product Manager and Section Manager
* Decide together with the Section Head and report the status of the assignment on Program Control Meeting Section management via Program Status Review
* Prepare decision points for Design Review Meeting Section for decisions
* Operate and manage Technical Program Meeting Section with Lead Engineers
* Cross-functional management and profit responsibility for the assignment mandate of the Section manager
* Take steps to eliminate discrepancies and report them immediately
* Comply with decisions of working according to VCC Product Development System and the applicable procedures in Business Management System
* Functional teams responsible for the defined areas
* Review the Owner's Manual according to the Volvo Car Customer Service, review process

Required qualifications

* Technical University degree or equivalent in Product Development, Machine Engineer, or other relevant area
* Project Management skills
* Understanding of Product Development processes
* Fluent in English (written and spoken)
* Good knowledge in Swedish is meritorious
