Who are we?
The two teams within Function & Control are responsible for the development of all seat functions at Volvo Cars. We design, develop, and deliver software and mechanical functionality and design, for both our in-house and the supplier part of the control modules.
What will you do?
We are now looking for a System Safety Engineer with experience in working agile, product development in the automotive industry, and experience in coordinating and leading projects. We are looking for an individual who has strong interpersonal communication and collaboration skills. You are someone who can manage tasks independently and drive issues with energy and transparent in reporting the status of the area, manage cross-functional contacts.
Your main tasks will be:
• Coach the team on System Safety topics, in terms of process awareness & deliverables.
• Lead the team so that the requirements in Functional Safety (ISO26262), & Cyber Security standards are fulfilled.
• Actively participate in joint reviews for Software, System Safety & Cyber Security according to the project plan.
• Support the test engineers in defining system safety test cases and support in test/Verification planning activities and testing activities.
Do you fit the profile?
To be successful in this role we believe you have:
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Electrical Engineering/Electronics Engineering/Embedded Systems/Mechatronics or equivalent,
• Knowledge of, ISO 26262/ ISO 21434 Standard, Networking protocols such as CAN or LIN or Flexray, etc,
• Familiar with requirement Engineering,
• Overall knowledge of embedded electronic systems from both development and production point of view,
• Expertise in Design, Development, and Validation of automotive electrical/electronic components,
• Automotive ECU technical knowledge and previous experience of component ownership managing ECU industrialization projects and working with Automotive Tier 1 suppliers or EMS, Electronic Manufacturing Services companies,
• Fluent in English (both written and spoken).
It is meritorious if you have:
• Working knowledge of programming in Embedded C or similar language,
• Knowledge of electrical components such as DC Motors, Actuators, Sensors (Hall Sensors, Temperature Sensors), circuit design, and electrical schematics.
Competence and experience are important, but personality is key!
As a member of our team, performance-driven and flexible to adapt the new situations. Communication will be the most important skill for you, you need to have a high level of communication skills to gather all information and feedback from the team and be proactive and informative to the team about your expertise. You need to be a strong team player who is easy-going in the team and point of contact within security-related topics. We also believe you are a structured person with good documentation skills and an eye for details.
