System Safety Engineer - Sensor Fusion

The Sensor Fusion area at Volvo cars consists of two groups: Sensor Fusion - Dynamic Environment and Sensor Fusion - Static Environment. Each group has around 15 members. The Sensor Fusion group works with the mission to develop algorithms and solutions that provide the required information about the surroundings of the vehicle, objects on the road and localisation of the vehicle. The software is developed, tailored and tuned to support active safety and autonomous drive functions. We are now looking to strengthen our team with a Sensor Fusion Developer that focus on the system safety aspects of the sensor fusion deliveries.

As Sensor Fusion System Safety Engineer you will be responsible for documentation and argumentation around the safety aspects of the sensor fusion algorithms, as well as finding solutions for how the solution shall be deployed. You will define targets together with other stakeholders and deliver towards those targets, with respect to time, technical quality and performance. You will also write and understand incoming and outgoing requirements. The work is performed in scrum teams.

Main responsibilities

* System safety work for sensor fusion algorithms, visualisation and simulation tools
* Involvement in sensor supplier cooperation
* Develop and manage requirements and documentation

Qualifications

* M.Sc in electrical engineering, applied physics, mechatronics, control theory or computer science
* Deep knowledge and interest in ISO26262 or other safety standards
* Experience in software development, preferably in C++
* Fluent in English, spoken and written
* Driver's license B

* Proactive, motivated and driven
* Ability to take own initiatives to full fill assigned high level tasks
