Kalmar’s Global Information Management organisation is looking for a new team member to develop our computer-based design and engineering systems, and processes together with Kalmar business division’s R&D organisations.
Kalmar is starting a project to improve and harmonise our engineering tools landscape during coming year. You will play a key role in the project and take the ownership of the global engineering solution including mechanical and electrical CAD systems as well as model management solution. You will report to Global Manager of Kalmar PLM solutions and will together lead the development of product lifecycle management in Kalmar.
The position is located in our new innovation center in Ljungby, Sweden.
Main tasks and responsibilities:
Investigate new technologies, consult with engineering and suppliers to lead development of Kalmar design systems and follow up general development of systems in engineering business
Contribute or lead in successful implementation of PLM and engineering systems
Ownership of cad design methods and templates for Kalmar
Maintain, test and diagnose functionality of engineering systems and provide support and troubleshooting of faults in systems
Plan, make and coordinate technical instructions, methods and provide trainings and support for engineers about IT environments and design systems.



What you’ll need to succeed:
We are looking for a structured person with passion to develop IT tools and processes to improve our engineering operations.
You don’t need to have years of experience in the field. You will need an attitude to learn by doing. You will need to communicate with different people from different countries. You need good verbal and written communication skills in English. You are easy to approach and open minded.
Ideally you have:
Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in computer science and/or engineering field
1-2 years of experience in system development and software applications competencies
Good understanding of hardware platforms and software applications
Basic understanding of industrial mechanical/electrical engineering
Good command in English both written and spoken, other language skills are asset
Experience working in cross functional and multicultural environment.
