System Specialist, Red Hat Enterprise Linux

As a System Specialist you will be part of a highly trusted global team of specialists in the Linux area. You will manage our Linux environments globally which is one of the main platforms for critical systems as sales- and order-flow. We are involved in projects and working groups for new platforms and deliveries. Today we maintain over two thousand systems with the latest technology from Red Hat and the number is growing steadily.


Some of your responsibility will be:
· Execute and plan Life cycle management tasks of the RHEL Technical standard and its infrastructure.
· Maintaining documentation and guidelines to facilitate the products being run and maintained according to well-defined procedures.
· Daily maintenance and support of the installed base.
· Input to Continuous improvement of the RHEL technical Standard and its components.
· Ensuring consistent and reliable performance to deliver the required level of service to the business.
· Be part of Linux team and support and maintain operations on IKEA Linux Technical Platform.
· Support and be the "expert" in projects, activities and task forces.


Is this the right challenge for you?


To be successful in this role you need to have:
· Previous experience working with RHEL and System management as Red Hat Satellite Server.
· Good understanding of VMWare, Network and switch components, Storage and SAN connectivity.
· Good programming skills in C, Java, Power Shell, Python, bash and Perl.
· Be able to find and implement improvements in the RHEL technical Standard.
· Create and implement automation as solutions for incidents and tasks.

You find energy in improving the tasks and ways of working and you have an ability to handle change. You are a good communicator and a good writer and of course fluent in English both oral and written.
