Within the Electromobility department we work with design and development of electromobility systems and components such as energy storage, motor drives and charging solutions for Volvo group products. Electromobility is an important technology area with strong contribution in reducing the CO2 emissions in our society.
We are currently looking for persons within Function verification with experience and interest of functional safety.

Position Description:

Electrical vehicle development is growing very rapidly and is creating exciting opportunities for us within Product Development. To meet the future demands we have very high focus on developing new ways of testing and verifying in the most efficient way. We are responsible for verifying the electromobility related end-user-functions but also other functions within the electromobility area and secure that we meet functional safety requirements.
As a Verification Engineer, you will be responsible for testing and verifying complex systems to ensure they meet safety standards. You will work closely with our development teams to identify potential safety hazards and develop strategies to mitigate them. Collaboration is key to ensure that we together develop the best solutions for our different customers, to meet or even exceed their expectations and requirements.
In the team we all have complementary skills and background so we together can develop the best way to test and verify our solutions.


This assignment includes but is not limited to:
Plan, prepare and lead verification activities
Develop test methods and test cases based on requirements
Play a key role in understanding and building our backlog and ensure strong alignment with key stakeholders
Contribute to continuously develop and improve our way of working and how we could do things even better next time, together with our development teams, simulation teams and HIL development team
Continuously strive to improve test methods and improve test automation



Who are you?

We are searching for a person that is passionate about both electromobility and verification. You are action- and result oriented person and can prioritize your time in an effective way to accomplish your goals.
The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Functional Safety and a structured approach to testing and verification. In this role, you will have the opportunity to spread your knowledge and expertise in Functional Safety throughout the team, helping to ensure that our products meet the highest safety standards.
Being a team player and having great communication skills is highly appreciated skills by us. We also believe that you are a person who is always looking for improvements in our way of working. Qualifications – that would help you to succeed in this role:
Bachelor- or Master of Science in Mechatronics, Physics, Electrical or equivalent
Solid experience of functional-, electronics- and/or electromobility verification in vehicle, lab and HIL
Knowledge and experience within functional safety verification
Automotive experience and preferably from Electromobility
Experience from test automation
Hands on experience with measurement tools such as CANalyzer and analogue measurement tools
B-Driver’s license (minimum) - if you can drive a truck that is of course even better
