Systems administrator Electrical applications

Your role

As an Application Specialist within the Electronics Maintenance Organization, you will be part of a team whose main task is to secure that all applications within the area are up and running in accordance to a number of factors, such as SLA, security compliance etc. Apart from your team members, you will work close together with the Service Manager, Service Owner and Suppliers in delivering the services. You will also have close contact with the business to understand their requirements.



The main tasks are:

* Secure that our applications are updated on a regular basis to meet security requirements and customer needs
* Continuous monitoring of the applications (for updates and licenses)
* Maintaining and updating technical documents and procedures when needed
* Communication with external stakeholders
* Participate in customer meetings to ensure understanding of their current and future needs, but also to nurture the relations
* On request, participate in R&D projects
* Develop customizations to the maintained applications
* Handle support requests and incidents



Your profile

You are an independent and structured person with a strong personal drive. You have basic technical understanding regarding IT-technology and previous experience from System Administration tasks and/or application management. It is also important that you have good communications skills and are service minded. In all our commitments, we value social competence and that you are service-oriented. Further, we value a person who likes to take on new tasks and challenges that are not necessarily within your work description. Both to help develop the team but also to help our customers developing their business using the tools delivered by the maintenance team.



Required skills:

* Academic education in IT, System Management or Engineering
* Experience of System Administration
* At least five years of relevant experience from the IT Operations area
* Good analytical skills
* Structured and service minded





Desired skills:

* Windows server knowledge (log handling, firewalls/ports/networks etc).
* Database knowledge; SQL, queries, modelling etc.
* Knowledge within the electrical field
* Experience from development in e.g. Java, C++, PS (Our applications are developed in Java)



This position requires that you pass a security vetting based on the current regulations around/of security protection. For positions requiring security clearance additional obligations on citizenship may apply.



What you will be a part of

You will be a part of Group IT and the department Development and Manufacturing Services and join the section Mechanical and Electrical Applications. In this section, we are 13 employees and 2 consultants with a focus on supporting applications for the Business Areas at Saab, working with e.g. Electrical Design, Mechanical Analysis, CAD etc.
