What you will be a part of
Industrial Product and Services, a business area of Saab, act like a holding company for the units included a collection of independent business units with their own tailor-made strategies to achieve profitable growth. IPS includes the business units; Aerostructures, Avionics Systems, Combitech and Ventures.
Avionics Systems develops and manufactures qualified electronics, mechanics and software for demanding applications in aircraft and helicopters. Many of these products are developed in collaboration with other parts of Saab or external partners. Most of our projects are carried out in an international environment and we supply products for two of the world’s largest aircraft manufacturers, Airbus and Boeing.
Avionics Systems has a clear strategy to grow in the Avionics domain and to grow in value chain. The Solutions and Systems Engineers will have a focus role of implementing the strategy. One important step is to create a Solutions and Systems Engineering group.



Your role
You will be part of a group responsible for:
• Technical interface to customer• Map and adapt customer requirements to system solutions: interpret, clarify, and flow compiled  requirements to the product areas.• Design system solutions to market demands• Define system solutions with content from multiple Saab product areas, strategic partners and third party suppliers• Preparing verification and integration requirements• Negotiate priorities and schedule and accept product area products for integration testing• Contribute to the realization of extensive quotations for international customers• Support customer during development
To perform the task you will collaborate with the departments Marketing & Sales, Business Development & Strategy and the Product Areas - including Avionics South Africa. You will also cooperate with other Saab business areas.
We are looking for a person with good technical skills and the ability to understand and transform customer requirements to internal requirements and constraints. You are business minded, structured, and analytic and have good communication skills.

Your skills and experience
We are looking for a profile in the commercial/civil aerospace domain knowledge comprising:• General Systems Engineering• General knowledge of the systems in an aircraft• Aircraft Integration knowledge• Certification requirements and operational regulatory environment
General requirements• Appropriate professional or postgraduate qualification in a business oriented or oktechnical discipline.• Strong business understanding and customer focus.• Understanding and ability to work in an international environment and matrix organisation.
