Systems Coordinator

Arbetsbeskrivning

The Engineering Data department supports product development of cutting tools in a global organization. Ours is a dynamic organization with a wealth of diverse people and ideas. The mix of competencies, together with varied backgrounds and experience, provides an innovative and exciting work environment and many opportunities for professional development in a number of directions.

Key performance areas
As a Systems Coordinator you will be involved in improving the efficiency of processes from design and development for different consumers, like production and marketing. Your primary responsibilities are as a systems designer and developer of our engineering change system, DMI/DMT, and the drawing administration applications, IMS/RI/Tooldraw, as well as quality assurance of the engineering data handling and support for users.

You will also:
- Function as gatekeeper for issues concerning engineering data and the systems
- Create user documentation
- Initiate improvements in the systems
- Be the contact person for Sandvik IT for questions regarding IMS/RI/Tooldraw and DMI/DMT and function as systems support for drawings and engineering change administration
- Support operations with product and product-related documents, such as drawings, design building blocks (basic geometries) and other NX files

The position also involves developing work processes and identifying user and systems requirements: testing and verifying them, documenting rules and instructions in our manuals and supporting their implementation. Your contacts will be mainly in product development and production, but also in other engineering data consuming processes like sales and marketing.

The department supports our designers worldwide via e-mail and telephone, and you need to have a good understanding of the system and processes involved. As the Engineering Data department is currently implementing a change of systems, we expect that you will establish requirements, be actively involved in how we are to handle data and how we can assure quality in our design data.

Your profile
We are looking for someone with a BSc or MSc in Engineering, with a focus on mechanical engineering, or who has acquired the equivalent knowledge in another manner. Experience of product development and/or PLM systems' possibilities and limitations is of significant advantage. Knowledge of CAD/CAM is also advantageous, while good English skills, both verbal and written, are required.

You are a service-minded and quality-conscious problem solver interested in improving working methods and making them more efficient. We are looking for someone with good cooperative competency and a talent for building and maintaining networks. As the work involves considerable contact with diverse parties, you must be communicative and able to share your knowledge with others effectively.
