The Science Directorate at the European Spallation Source (ESS) in Lund, Sweden, invites applications for a Systems Engineer. 

Description of directorate/division
Providing engineering support, project management and oversight, processes and procedures, the Scientific Projects Division will host the instrument construction projects for the ESS.  
Bringing together the resources and tools needed to design, engineer, fabricate, construct and install the instruments, we shall work with the instrument scientists, in-kind partners, and technology groups to bring to the instruments from concepts to working instruments.

Description of main responsibilities
Act as Systems Engineer for the Scientific Projects Division; support Science Directorate and Neutron Scattering Systems personnel with systems engineering tasks. Act as liaison with Systems Engineering office.
Qualifications: 



• Bachelor of Science or equivalent in engineering, Masters preferred.

• Experience in the implementation of systems engineering is crucial. 

• Experience with an accelerator and/or target and/or control systems and/or neutron instruments and/or conventional facilities are a plus but not a prerequisite.

You have knowledge of the lifecycle of projects and the desire to support the successful completion of same. Strong communication, teamwork and collaboration skills are a must. You are proud of your work, set high standard for quality and quantity and your English skills are excellent, both written and oral.

The position is permanent with six months initial probationary period. Your work place will be situated in Lund, Sweden.
