Your role

As a Systems Engineer you will work with different systems in collaboration with different interfaces within and outside the unit. With a good overall view of the systems, you support software developers and hardware developers in ongoing projects for feature updates or corrective actions. You support customers in various projects and systems.

For new projects, you are responsible for producing documents for requirements specification, verification and integration.



The role's tasks include:

* Manage the system throughout its life cycle, already from its definition and specification including its improvement and replacement
* Managing the customer requirements and system specifications
* Verification and testing of the system
* Integration
* Regular customer contacts and providing support
* Regular meetings with product managers, developers, project managers and customers to align the system requirement and the development work
* Development and review of documentation for the system specification
* Manage correction of problems in the system operation



Your profile

We believe you have a Bachelor or Master of Science in Engineering, Technical Physics, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering or equivalent. Understanding of the interaction between system requirements, software implementation and embedded systems is key.

Excellent communication skills in Swedish and English, verbal and written are also required.



To fit this role, you should have experience within systems design. Experience within software development is preferable. A background as a development engineer is also beneficial as you are required to have a deeper understanding of how system requirements affect hardware and software design.

You should have experience in at least three of these areas:

* Systems engineering
* Requirements specification (preferably in Doors)
* Systems design and architecture
* Software design and embedded systems
* EMC and analog electronics
* ILS (Integrated Logistics Support) and System Safety
* System Verification and Integration
* Customer contacts and support
* Development of system documentation
* Troubleshooting

What you will be a part of

The Counter Measure Systems unit within Electronic Warfare Systems (EWS) provides innovative systems and services for protection, detection, location and monitoring. It also provides tools for intelligence analysis. This unit and EWS are part of the Business Area Surveillance.

The BA Surveillance, one of the six SAAB business areas, provides efficient solutions for safety and security, for surveillance and decision support, and for threat detection, location, and protection. In 2018 BA Surveillance had 7 397 MSEK in sales and 3 770 employees in total.
