We are in the middle of the digital transformation, and we work with implementing end-to-end functions like Driver Coaching, I-See, Remote SW Download, V2X, Vehicle apps, Emergency Calls and Geofencing/Zone Management as well as updating our software platform. Connectivity is a key enabler for fleet management, uptime services and advanced vehicle services as driver assistance and fuel reduction, targeting reduced costs as well as increased revenues. The development in connectivity is huge, and we expect to be part of the functional growth in IoT, Active Safety and Automation in a near future. We have also interesting challenges in the Cyber Security area.

Description of the position
We are practicing agile way of working, with SAFe as a guideline. This position is similar to the SAFe role System Architect/Engineering on the program level. https://www.scaledagileframework.com/system-and-solution-architect-engineering/
In this position you will have a technical leading role of our on-board connectivity platform, together with 2-3 more platform architects and be an important member of the release train management team. The System/Software Platform Architects are working very close to the software development scrum teams, hardware development teams, as well as cross-functional concept teams. You will participate in the development of new or enhanced connectivity functions/services from concept to release. In this position you plan and develop the architectural runway for our product platform, to be able to support the growth of new functions and services. Right now we do a major update of the architectural runway of our sw platform to be aligned to the next generation of Volvo vehicle electrical architecture, T3. T3 consists of a powerful vehicle central computation node using virtualization with service oriented sw architecture. You define product enablers for the release train. You collaborate with other architects in other release trains. You are the sponsor of the architect SAFe CoP team (Community of Practice). You contribute with input to the product roadmaps.
Our connectivity platform is developed in C++ based on embedded Linux and Vector AutoSar Claasic and Some/IP.
Who are you?
You are passionate in complex embedded software products. Especially products built on embedded Linux. You have been working with software development for several years and have experience in technical leadership. You are used to take responsibility. You have been working in an agile organization and have the agile mindset. You also have a true can do attitude, a strong quality focus and a personal drive. You enjoy working in a global organization.
We believe, this is a position for a person that can work under demanding conditions and to create a successful working climate in these situations. As a person, you have very good people skills, communication skills and organizational skills.
Qualifications
Master’s degree in electronics / computer engineering or equivalent education
Minimum 10 years working experience in embedded software development
Documented experience from working as a system/software architect
High competence in communication and networking
Well spoken and written English
Meriting Qualifications
We consider experience from vehicle product development to be a merit. We also see domain specific knowledge in the Connectivity/Telematics area meriting.
