Tactical and Operational Buyers

Sandvik Machining Solutions (SMS) is a business area within the Sandvik Group and a global market-leading manufacturer of tools and tooling systems for advanced industrial metal cutting. Products are manufactured in cemented carbide and other hard materials, such as diamond, cubic boron nitride and special ceramics.

The total purchasing volume for SMS is approximately 11 billion SEK per annum. For Direct Purchasing, we are organized in four major Level 1 Categories; Production and Assembly Materials, Resale Products, Subcontracting and Raw Materials.

We are now looking for three Tactical and Operational Buyers for the Production and Assembly and Resale Products categories. The location for these positions is Sandviken.

Key performance areas
As Tactical and Operational Buyer you will be responsible for the supply flow from external suppliers to Sandvik Distribution Centers. You will be part of the Global Category teams.

In your operational role you will be responsible for ordering, follow up and communicating with internal stakeholders and external suppliers. In the tactical role you will be working closely with the suppliers to ensure delivery capability and improve the supply chain performance like lead times and networking capital.

The position will require some travelling.

Your profile
We are looking for someone with a degree within technology and/or business, or two years? experience of operational and tactical purchasing. Good computer skills, especially in Excel and one or several purchasing systems, are a prerequisite. You have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both written and verbal.

You combine hands-on operational skill with a genuine interest in purchasing matters, a tactical mind-set and a high degree of personal integrity. We have a network-based model, which means that your ability to participate in multifunctional international teams is important. Furthermore, you have excellent communication skills and the ability to sell new ideas, both internally and externally.
