Do you want to take part in, and be a driving force behind important contributor to the development of the Sandvik Machining Solution Direct Purchasing organization, a new, exciting effort to develop our process for Direct Purchasing?

Sandvik Machining Solutions (SMS) is a business area within the Sandvik Group and a global market-leading manufacturer of tools and tooling systems for advanced industrial metal cutting. Products are manufactured in steel, cemented carbide and other hard materials, such as diamond, cubic boron nitride and special ceramics.

The total purchasing volume for SMS is approximately 11 billion SEK per annum. For Direct Purchasing, we are organizing our Category Management model into four major Level 1 Categories, one of which is Sub contracting of Finished Products. The content of this category is finished products having a SMS design and are being supplied by external suppliers. Examples of products can be tool holder for turning, milling and drilling.

We are now looking for a Tactical and Operational Buyer. The location for this position is Sandviken.

Key performance areas
As a tactical and operational buyer you will be responsible for the supply of products in the Outsourcing Category from suppliers. You are working with multiple stakeholders including logistics, production, marketing, development and Global Category teams.

Your duties will involve orders, tracking and communicating with internal stakeholders and external suppliers. You will work closely with suppliers to ensure capacity and improve the supply chain performance. You will be involved in developing new and existing suppliers and implement projects at them. An important ability in all pre-project works will be to analyze assortments in terms of technologies needed, product complexities and supplier capabilities.

The position will require some travel.

Your profile
We are looking for someone with a degree within technology and/or business, or two years? experience of operational and tactical purchasing. Good computer skills, especially in Excel and one or several purchasing systems, are a prerequisite. You have good knowledge of Swedish and English, both written and verbal.

You have a genuine interest in technology and production issues. You combine hands-on operational skill with a genuine interest in purchasing matters, a tactical mind-set and a high degree of personal integrity. We have a network-based model, which means that your ability to participate in multifunctional international teams is important. Furthermore, you have excellent communication skills and the ability to sell new ideas, both internally and externally.
