Working as a junior engineer at Volvo Cars Safe Vehicle Automation

At Safe Vehicle Automation, our about 600 engineers contribute with safety in several areas. On top of the development of a robust, energy efficient and world class Vehicle Motion control platform, our engineers develop functionality for Active Safety and Autonomous Drive that provides an excellent ride experience to the driver and the passengers. Our future function growth and innovation depends on highly capable sensors and a powerful computer platform; therefore, we work in close collaboration with our strategic partners for our platform. Within our scope, we work with also protective safety solutions that secure preventive car behaviors in a scenario where crash cannot be avoided.

Volvo Cars and Nexer Tech Talent is now making it possible for you to start your career in one of the following roles:

Being a consultant at Nexer Tech Talent 

Nexer Tech Talent specialize in giving young tech talents the ultimate start in their careers. For this role, you will be employed by Nexer Tech Talent but work at Volvo Cars in Gothenburg, starting February/March 2023. The talent program runs for 12 months, you will spend most of your time working in your team at Volvo Cars. Around once a month you leave your daily work to take part in learning sessions hosted by Nexer. You will practice and learn both hard and soft skills together with the other Nexer consultants enrolled in the same program. You will be coached by a mentor in your team at Volvo Cars and by a consultant manager at Nexer Tech Talent. As a consultant, you will be well taken care of. We often invite our consultants to group activities such as lectures, after works and lunch meetings. After successful completion of the talent program, the intention is that you will be offered employment with Volvo Cars. By starting your career as a consultant with us, you get the ultimate transition between studies and your future career in IT and Tech!

To be a match for one of the positions in the program we believe that you: 


• Are at the start of your career and have a degree in computer science, mechatronics, electronics, applied physics or equivalent
• Have an interest in the future of autonomous vehicles
• Have a broad technical interest and is ready to take on a challenge
• Have good knowledge in English, spoken and written
