About the team

The Business Administration team is responsible for ensuring that Storytel and its employees develop and reach their full potential. As part of a very creative and entrepreneurial business, we create the foundation that supports the organization and helps navigate through strategic changes, market opportunities and challenges.

About the role

As a Tax Accountant, you will assist in monitoring tax compliance, preparing tax documentation, and analyzing tax impact as part of the Storytel group accounting team. You will also be responsible for providing support to various Storytel teams on technical tax questions (sales tax, income tax, withholding tax) in their respective processes. The position reports to the Accounting Specialist and is a part of the Business Administration team at Storytel. This won’t be a routine tax accountant job. Your responsibilities will include but are not limited to:

- Provide support for global tax compliance, including coordinating tax documentation related to transfer pricing and MDR requirements
- Prepare tax impact analysis of various projects within the group, including expansion strategies and M&A transactions
- Perform tax reporting and manage related administration, including preparation of tax returns for some Swedish group companies and review of tax returns prepared by external service providers
- Assist in monitoring and implementing new and/or changed tax requirements and researching industry insights, including DTS
- Liaise with external auditors, external tax advisors, local tax teams, and tax authorities


Your profile

To be a successful Tax Accountant you are likely a person who enjoys working with diverse tasks in a high-performance environment as you will participate in various projects and assist in continuously developing and improving tax processes in the group. You are able to work independently with a high sense of ownership and great attention to detail, while at the same time promoting a genuine team-player mindset.

We believe that you have:

- An academic degree in Business Administration/Finance/Tax Accounting
- 3+ years experience in tax accounting and corporate tax compliance
- Good knowledge of IFRS and Swedish GAAP
- Strong analytical and organizational skills
- Business level of English in written and spoken words as Storytel is an international company with English as our official language internally.


Your background is likely from a finance department at Swedish and international level or from Big4/public accounting. It would be a big plus if you have experience from the digital economy/content business.
