TCMS Software Engineer

Our division Propulsion & Controls (PPC) is responsible for delivering propulsion and control systems in the front edge of technology to a worldwide market. Our systems are the heart, the brain and the muscles of the train.

As a Software Engineer within Train Control Management System (TCMS) you will be working with both development of new products and functionality as well as maintenance of our products. This role includes the complete chain of software development, from requirements to verification with a big focus on development and packaging of OS releases especially with embedded Linux. This means that good knowledge in programming towards custom hardware, testing and troubleshooting of the same is needed. In addition to this, good skills in defect tracking and defect correction are required. When needed the trouble shooting may be performed at a customer site.

To succeed in this role you should have very good skills in embedded C/C++ as well as shell scripts. The Operating System releases that you will deliver internally will be used in our HMI products following SIL0 and SIL2 classifications. You will also be involved in our process improvement work.

Qualifications

As our preferred candidate you have:

- A Bachelor of Science degree or higher
- Knowledge in software development for custom hardware
- The following programming languages: Shell scripts (mainly bash), C and C++
- Documented experience with development and packaging of embedded Linux
- Fluency in Swedish and English

Qualification in any the following areas is a plus:

- Experienced with development and packaging of operating systems other than Linux
- Experienced and certified for development with SIL0/SIL2 products
- Experience with EN 50128 (SW applications) and EN 50126 (RAMS)
- Knowledge in TCMS Visualization products
- Knowledge in TCMS Product Development process
- Knowledge of German
- Skilled in Software quality methodologies
