Internationella Engelska Skolan (IES) is a leading independent school group ("friskola") with academic results far above average and a diverse and energetic staff. Teaching is through both Swedish and English, with English the language of the corridors. About this vacancy
Internationella Engelska Skolan Järfälla is a 5-9 school with 560 students and 62 staff. The school opened in 2002 and is located in Jakobsberg, just a short walk from the train station. IES Järfälla is one of the most well-established schools in the IES company, with clear structures, well-functioning routines and a warm atmosphere.
We are looking for a qualified teacher to teach English 60% starting as soon as possible.
This person should have an enthusiasm for their subject, excellent classroom management and a sincere interest in student well-being. For the applicant with the right qualifications there are oppurtunities for more than 60% employment. You will be working with colleagues in the department to plan creative and inspiring lessons, as well as overseeing the development of our local curriculum for English from Years 5 - 9. There is a lot of freedom in our school to try new material and methods in the classroom.
In addition, you will be part of a year team (arbetslag) overseeing the academic progress and well-being of students. We are looking for a positive and creative team player, who looks for solutions, shares ideas and is open to learn from others. The role also includes mentorship of 16 students.
We follow the Swedish National Curriculum for English. Our student body is diverse, and to be succesful in teaching at IESJ you need to have a good understanding of students differences, and the ability to adapt and plan well. Ability to communicate in swedish is seen as a merit.
