Information about the division
The department of Computer Science and Engineering is strongly international, with approximately 270 employees from over 30 countries. The department is a fully integrated department with the University of Gothenburg and Chalmers University of Technology as principals.
The Interaction Design unit is an interdisciplinary group, with researchers working in areas such as aesthetics of computational technology, information visualization, inclusive design, intelligent user interfaces, computer game design, interaction in arts and music, and tangible user interfaces. It is responsible for approximately 20 courses - mainly at the masters level - and is responsible for two master programmes: Interaction Design & Technologies at Chalmers and Game Design & Technology at University of Gothenburg.
We are now expanding our teaching team with a position as two-year fulltime teacher in Game Design and Game Devlopment. The position is placed in the Division of Interaction Design & Software Engineering, with Chalmers as the employer.
Job description
The position is to be the teacher for courses related to games and game development, such as Introduction to game research, Gameplay design, Game engine architecture, Technology-driven experimental game design. Responsibilities include lecturing, supervising students, grading assignments and exams, and running exercises. In addition, supervision of students in bachelor thesis projects, master thesis projects, and individual project courses is part of the work specification.
Contract terms
Full time 2 years temporary employment. Start date: 2021-08-16 or as soon as possible thereafter.
Qualifications
The applicant is expected to hold a completed master degree in a field relevant to the topics that defines the position, or significant professional experience in a related occupation. The applicant should have documented experience in the topics that define the position, and show good skills in spoken and written English. Having a PhD in a field relevant to the course topics that defines the position is meriting.
