Internationella Engelska Skolan (IES) is a leading independent school group ("friskola") with academic results far above average and a diverse and energetic staff. Internationella Engelska Skolan Järfälla is a 5-9 school with 560 students and 62 staff. The school opened in 2002 and is located in Jakobsberg, just a short walk from the train station.

We are now looking for a qualified science teacher to join us for 8 months while our current teacher will be on maternity leave. This position will start on April 19th, 2022 and last the full fall term until December 21st, 2022.  

We are looking for a person with real enthusiasm for their subject, excellent classroom management and a sincere interest in student well-being. You will be working closely with the colleagues in the science department and follow a scheme of work prepared by the teacher that you are covering. Your work here will start with four days of preparation, which could mean shadowing the current teacher, going over planning together, as necessary.

In addition, you will be part of a year team (arbetslag) overseeing the academic progress and well-being of students.  The role also includes mentorship of 16 students.

We follow the Swedish National Curriculum for science and a knowledge of Swedish is seen as a merit.
