ABOUT THE VACANCY:

Our school, Internationella Engelska Skolan in Bromma, is looking for a qualified science teacher to join our spirited, driven community and inspire young scientific minds. The successful applicant will teach year 7-9 science. The successful applicant must have a strong grasp of middle school biology, chemistry and physics, and experience with planning and delivering engaging and varied lessons. You must be able to make use of technology and incorporate hands-on learning in the classroom. The ideal candidate should also be able to collaborate with our science colleagues. 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

- Create lesson plans using LGR11 and setting lesson objectives and outcomes that are varied and differentiated. 
- Deliver high-quality, engaging lessons and laboratory tasks using a variety of methods and adapt instruction to the needs of the students.
- Assess and evaluate student performance continuously using various assessment opportunities in the classroom. 
- Promote and maintain a safe and orderly classroom environment where students can learn using classroom management tools. 
- Mentor up to 16 students in senior school. Maintain monthly contact with their parents/guardians and following up on the academic and behavioural performance. 
- Supportive an overall positive and driven school environment through additional support in the hallways, playgrounds and dining hall. JOB REQUIREMENTS:Required:Degree in Education/teaching credentials in general science or biology, chemistry or physics. Strong communication skills, English is your native languageKnowledge of Science middle school curriculum. Ideally LGR11, however, KS3, GCSE or similar curricular are also applicable.Experience in working with students from the ages of 13 to 15.PreferableStrong computer literacy particularly in Word Processing (MS Word, Google Doc), Presentations (MS PowerPoint, Google Slides) and Spreadsheets, (MS Excel, Google Sheets)Google file storage practises including file naming and folder organisation on Google Drive or similar tools (eg. OneDrive, Dropbox)Experience with SchoolSoftKnowledge in teaching technology in particular, technical drawing, programming, material science or design process. Knowledge of lab safety best practices.
