Internationella Engelska Skolan (IES) is a leading independent school group ("friskola") with academic results far above average and a diverse and energetic staff. Teaching is through both Swedish and English, with English the language of the corridors. IES is one of Sweden's largest school groups at "Grundskolan" with 46 schools and around 32,000 students across the country. IES has grown steadily and maintained quality since 1993.

IES Johanneberg is a school for grades 6-9 with approximately 560 students and 60 staff members. We are a bilingual school following the Swedish national curriculum. The school is located in the central parts of Gothenburg.
We are now looking for a qualified Social Science teacher for grades 6-9, starting in August 2024.
Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver engaging lessons
- Assess student progress, provide constructive feedback, and maintain accurate records
- Mentor students in one of the classes you teach
- Collaborate with colleagues to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment
- Participate in professional development opportunities and contribute to the school community
Qualifications:
- Swedish “lärarlegitimation”
- Proficiency in both Swedish and English
- Positive attitude and a collaborative mindset
- Ability to adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students
- Commitment to ongoing professional growth and development
