About IES Kista
Internationella Engelska Skolan Kista is a school for grades 4-9 with 896 students and over 100 staff. The school opened in 2015 and has since expanded to become the largest grundskola in the Rinkeby-Kista area of northern Stockholm. We are proud of our student cohort, where over 40 different mother tongue languages are represented, and this diversity is subsequently reflected in our staff body. We conduct up to 50% of our teaching in English, following the Swedish National Curriculum (LGR 22). Academically, we prioritise a structured and well-planned teaching approach based the research-informed methodologies of:
- Effectively managing cognitive load
- Establishing a core knowledge base

Key responsibilities
- Actively contributing to departmental work such as short-, medium- and long-term planning and engaging in the updated LGR22 curriculum.
- Maintaining high expectations for all students by conducting well-planned and engaging lessons, as well as following our proven teaching & learning procedures.
- Supporting our diverse body of students and promoting literacy within the English and Swedish languages. Ensuring all students succeed through adaptive and reflexive teaching supported by special education strategies devised by our Accessible Education Team.
- Adhere to key academic deadlines throughout the academic year.
Skills, competencies and experience
- A relevant teaching qualification from Sweden or overseas.
- Working knowledge of Google applications (Drive, Slides, Docs, Sheets).
Preferable skills, competencies and experience
- Teaching experience in a international environment or culturally diverse setting.
- Working knowledge of Schoolsoft.
- Experience of working within the Swedish National Curriculum (e.g. LGR 11).
