Internationella Engelska Skolan Solna is now seeking a qualified Crafts teacher for grades 5-7 to join our amazing team at IES Solna. This is a full time position starting as soon as possible.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, positive, committed and cooperative team-player, willing to go the extra mile for students and colleagues. You should have a passion for design and experience with teaching crafts. You should also have a Swedish teaching licence (lärarlegitimation) or if internationally qualified, a current teaching licence/registration plus a Bachelor’s degree and teaching qualification. 

At IES Solna we teach craft in a ‘Maker Space’ environment, so we are looking for a teacher who can adapt and is confident with team teaching and working across specialisms in wood, metal textiles and CAD/CAM technologies. We aim to give students the opportunity to work in areas that interest them, so a flexible and adaptive approach to teaching the projects is key.

In addition to teaching meaningful and enjoyable lessons, all staff are expected to be well organised, take pride in their mentorship and other school duties and be outstanding role models for our students.

We follow the Swedish curriculum LGR22 and experience with this curriculum and teaching experience in Sweden is preferred. 

Main duties include:

- Maintain the positive ethos and core values of the school, both inside and outside the classroom
- Report to guardians on the development, progress, and attainment of students
- Mentorship of students is included in this position
- Maintaining an organised and tidy shared craft workroom
- Supporting in the creation and development of craft projects as part of LGR22 and the ‘Maker Space’ approach to craft.
