Sankt Ignatios College is part of Sankt Ignatios folkhögskola and has five ecclesiastical seminaries for training in pastoral life, theology, church music, and ecclesiastical languages. Two seminaries are attached to the Tewahedo tradition. We are now hiring for a permanent position in Church Music for Ethio-Eritrean tradition.
Sankt Ignatios College is an institution with a collaboration between two school forms, university studies (via University College Stockholm) and folk high school (Sankt Ignatios folk high school). Sankt Ignatios College is owned by Sankt Ignatios Foundation. The person will be employed by Sankt Ignatios Foundation and teach on folk high school level.

Subject Orientation:
Church Music, Ethio-Eritrean Tradition.
Church music in the Ethio-Eritrean tradition has several components and includes the following areas: memhre Aquaqam, memhre mezgeb, mieeraf, zmarie. In addition to the musical tradition the area includes fluency in Geez, Tigrinja and Amharic and be ready to learn Swedish.

Access:
September 1, 2023 or according to agreement. Employment rate 75% percent.

Employment period:
Permanent position. Employment begins with a probationary period (6 month).

Tasks:
The position includes teaching, course responsibilities, examination, supervision, recruitment of students and administration.

Eligibility requirements:
The applicant must have documented marigeta competence in the field of church music in the Ethio-Eritrean tradition. In addition, the applicant eligible for employment in this position, is required to have documented and relevant pedagogical skills and the personal qualities required to fulfill the employment well.
For eligibility, the ability to teach in Tigrinja and Amharic is required. The candidate must know Geez and documented very good knowledge of English is required.

Pedagogical Skills:
Pedagogical skills and competence in the subject are of equal importance for the position. When assessing pedagogical skills, pedagogical quality will primarily be taken into account. Also, scope, both breadth and depth, will be taken into consideration. The pedagogical skill must be well documented so that quality can be assessed.

Other skills:
Administrative skills and management skills will be given preference. Such skills include a capacity for business planning and ability to cooperate. In addition, special emphasis is placed on the applicant's prerequisites for contributing to future development of the development of the subject and education. During the recruitment process, interviews and lectures may be called for and references consulted.
