Nordic International School Trollhättan is a Swedish school with an international profile for years 4-9. We believe that order and discipline create an optimal learning environment. We impart bilingual education in both Swedish and English and use teaching methods that are supported by international research. The school was founded in 2019, currently has 145 students and 15 employees and is located at Swedenborg Center, Lasarettsvägen 9.



Nordic International School is a growing school chain with an international profile, offering bilingual instruction in Swedish and English.

We believe that order and discipline as well as teacher-led instruction are essential to ensure a learning environment in which pupils thrive. Our aim is to provide an education that is grounded in rigorous research, which we use to develop our strategy and policies. Our first school was founded in Norrköping in 2017, followed by a second school in Karlstad in 2018 and a third in Trollhättan 2019. In August 2020, we will start a new school in Kalmar.

In Trollhättan we will expand with 4 new classes from August 2020 and we are now looking for qualified teachers who are willing to take on the challenging task of supporting the headteacher and staff to this. Apart from providing continuous professional development and academic exchanges between our schools, we offer an exciting opportunity to create and be part of something new.

We are looking for qualified teachers in the following subjects:

- Mathematics
- Science subjects
- Social studies subjects
- Art
- Music
- Domestic Science
- Technics

It is possible to combine subjects depending on your experience.

Successful candidates must share our core values and educational vision. In addition, you will:

- Be able to work and cooperate with others as part of a team, both within your school and later on with colleagues in other schools within the chain.
- Possess strong communication skills and be able to successfully manage relationships with other staff, pupils, and parents.
- Have a genuine interest and passion for developing your teaching methods to maximise pupil learning.
- Be able to deal with and adapt to change, which will be necessary when working at a start-up school.
- Be able to take initiative as the role will partly involve shaping a new organisation.

Your background
- You should preferably be bilingual with English or Swedish as your main language.
- You are a qualified teacher of the subject/subjects you’re applying to teach.
- You have excellent teaching and classroom management skills.
- If you are an experienced teacher, you should have a proven track record of improving pupils’ academic results.
- You should be able to develop your teaching methods for the purpose of raising pupil achievement.
- You must be able to adapt to Nordic International School’s educational vision and core values in a relatively short period of time.
- International experience is an advantage.

Terms and conditions
We have a collective agreement and apply “FERIETJÄNST” among teaching staff and “SEMESTERTJÄNST” among support staff.

We will carry out a criminal-record check of all applicants.

The start date will be in August 2020.

Interviews will commence immediately and the position may be filled before the application deadline.

Nordic International School is a part of the group Fria Läroverken i Sverige. The group consists of seven upper secondary school, four elementary schools and one special needs school.
