The International School of Helsingborg has provided a truly international education at the Primary and Secondary levels since 1995. Job description
As a Fritids/Support Team Chef you would be responsible for the Fritids programme and for the organisation of support staff during the school time. You will work with a team of Fritids assistants and teachers in order to plan engaging activities for the students. You will be expected to interact with the students in a caring manner as well as to lead groups of students with positive behaviour management techniques. Each fritids team member is an important and equal part of the team and together, the team members provide an environment that is respectful, encourages positive interpersonal interactions, is stimulating, encourages inquiry through play based learning experiences and is clean and orderly.
As a team chef you are responsible for organising the support provided to students and classes in collaboration with the Learning Support team. You will make sure assistants schedules work in practice and the support measures are adapted to meet the specific learning needs of individual students.
The Fritids team chef should actively work to incorporate the philosophy, standards and practices of the Primary Years Programme and all elements of the IB curriculum into the Fritids program. The Fritids Chef will be active and available for parents, staff and student consultations especially related to the Fritids / Support team, take parent suggestions and discuss the educational needs of individual students in the efforts of improving student learning and driving the PYP Programme and its ideals. The Fritids team leader also has charge of ensuring that all aspects of Fritids pedagogy and organisational practices are carried out according to school policy and the IB provisions which comply with national laws of Sweden.
Qualifications
We are looking for a candidate that has a degree or certificate within the field of education. The candidate will be able to read, write and speak English fluently.
The successful candidate will also have at least two years of experience from working with groups of students in the ages 6-11 in an after school care group or other child-centred activity. In addition, experience with planning and administration experience will be important.
We are looking for someone who works well in a team. The person must be positive, open minded and flexible. When working with the students, colleagues or parents, he/she will be firm, but kind. He/She will take the time to get to know the students and speak with them, listening to them and creating relationships with them. He/she will take initiative within organising activities and help to make fritids a place where students feel safe to develop integrally.
