Team leader for Autonomous Drive and Advanced Driver Assistance Systems verification

At Research & Development you will be a key contributor to the next generation cars working with the Autonomous Drive (AD) and Advanced Driver Assistance System (ADAS) project. Together with other engineers around the world, you and your team will create innovative human-centric car technology that makes life less complicated and more enjoyable for people. The group Active Safety and SRS system, Analyse and Verification is a part of Volvo Cars Active Safety department, which drives the development of the Volvo core value - Safety. We are responsible for analyse and verification of several different systems such as CADS, parking manoeuvring, parking cameras, automatic parking and BLIS (blind spot information system) plus SRS (Supplemental Restraint System). All these involved sensors/systems will be part of the future self-driving cars together with many new sensors and systems. This will surely be a challenge to verify and quality assure. Our test methods today are both on bench, rigs, cars and CAE. Our daily work is performed in close collaboration with both our internal design departments such as the Active Safety CAE group, electrical, interior/exterior, ergonomics as well as external suppliers.
We are now searching for a Team leader for our AD/ADAS Analyse Engineers who will be testing coming AD and ADAS systems. The persons we are looking for will be a part of the project team, plan and lead the verification as well as report to management. Understand and lead the different technical solutions that needs to be evaluated to secure that the vehicles meet our high safety standards. This is a cross functional role and you will have regular contact with engineers from technical areas and the product development departments.
Main responsibilities
* Be the leader of our AD/ADAS team
* Be a member of the Active Safety AD/ADAS program team
* Understand and plan all work that is necessary to fulfil our assignment
* Plan all needed actions to be able to follow the program plan
* Leading the development of new test methods
* Understand our tool needs (for the set ups, data handling/saving, car need etc
Required qualifications
* M.Sc or B Sc in mathematics, mechatronics, electronics or physics
* At least 5 years of work experience (within automotive is meritorious)
* Team leader or project leader experience
* Fluent in English (written and spoken)
* Experience from software/system development or testing is meritorious
* PhD in mathematics, mechatronics, electronics or physics is meritorious
* Driving license B
