What we offer
We at Propulsion and Energy are a unit within Research & Development with a clear purpose to be leading in Electric Propulsion. You will have the opportunity to join a creative and specialists’ team that plans the prototype builds for the next generation of electric engines. In this team you will be working in a solution and delivery-oriented environment together with experienced and motivated colleagues.

What you’ll do
Your primary responsibility is to assist the team placed in Skövde on their everyday needs facilitating and providing clarity on the deliveries, as well as contributing to a good and creative work environment.
You will also be responsible for the prototype build capacity based on the material and resources available. You will have the opportunity to collaborate closely with the developers and program managers to deliver with quality, in time, and to the right cost. You will deliver the prototypes and prototype material to the developing and manufacturing engineering teams according to the program’s needs and prioritization. You will be the go-to contact between the developers & program managers and the build.
Additionally, you take lead to secure that the process and re-tooling adaptions are in place for new program series creating the prerequisites needed in the equipment to build according to requested specification.

You will be an enabler in the whole prototype delivery process promote creatively thinking within the team while communicating with all stakeholders inside and outside Volvo Cars. Within Volvo Cars your main interfaces will be Propulsion & Energy engineers and program managers, as well manufacturing engineering. Outside of Volvo Cars you will interface with parts and equipment suppliers as well as with partners you collaborate with. The team is composed by three experienced and autonomous Task Leaders, one dynamic Supply Chain Coordinator and the machine operators who are allocated to perform the build.

What you’ll bring
We believe you have a degree in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience. You have experience as a leader in prototype production environment, preferably connected to e-machine prototype build, as well as an understanding of operational planning and resource allocation.

We believe that you are eager to deliver jointly with the team from planning to solving issues daily. You provide a solid leadership to the team by assisting with technical clarity and proactive guidance. You always put safety first while delivering in a high pace and fast changing business. Being motivated, creative and curious as well as having sense of urgency, is very important for the role and the team. You have an ability to create trust around you while negotiating with others. 
You can plan and prioritize with a flexible mind-set and with high integrity. Your problem-solving skills are extensive, and you are proficient in some automotive production tools, processes, and development phases. Your effective communication skills, both written and verbal allows you to collaborate with various stakeholders on various levels.

At Volvo Cars, English is our corporate language, requiring fluent skills both written and orally. Driver’s license type B is required. Finally, your work location will be primarily Skövde with day trips to Gothenburg.
