What do we offer?
The Painted Body department within Vehicle Platform, is responsible for the development of body structures and surface treatment systems for all Volvo cars. Development work is mainly conducted within the department and in close corporation with Manufacturing, Design, suppliers, and external partners.

What you’ll do
As a Team Manager, you will have the overall operational responsibility for 3 teams (Labels, Adhesive & Sealants and Surface Treatment Engineering) within Surface Products.
As a manager you will ensure the deliverables as well as expand the capabilities of the teams in close collaboration with the Scrum masters and Product Owner, while holding a strategic outlook on technology, competence, and future business. You will recruit highly skilled individuals in line with identified capability and competence needs, develop and coach them to their full potential. You ensure the work environment, including lab environment, for the teams and do performance reviews and salary setting for your team members.
As a Team Manager you will be a member of Painted Body´s management team. We work in close cooperation within the department but also with our networks to ensure that we secure our common deliveries. We believe that we are stronger as a team, and we share the responsibility of developing the department and its coworkers.
You and Your skills
You have a University Degree or equivalent experience from the automotive industry, as well as knowledge in the area of hardware development. Knowledge within vehicle plant release systems, manufacturing engineering and sourcing is also preferable.
You have experience from leadership roles, and you have ability to inspire, motivate and challenge people. You have a genuine interest in people and passion for developing individuals and teams.
You are self-motivated, you are eager to create clarity, you show courage, take ownership, and use an empowering leadership securing to give the team members the prerequisites to be accountable for their deliveries.
To succeed in this role, you need to be structured and like to continuously improve current working processes. As a person, you work with a high level of engagement and a strong enthusiasm.
You work with a team-oriented approach and have a focus on deliveries, team development and investigation of the competence needed to be prepared for future challenges. You are a good team player, and you recognize the benefits of working together and towards common goals.
You possess great communication skills. You are fluent in spoken and written English.
