What's in it for you?
The ART Software and Hardware Lifecycle Management (SHLM) is a part of the product area Vehicle Software & Installation Digital, which is one of the product areas within the unit Engineering and Operations Digital. You will be a vital team member in our product area leadership team consisting of the Product Area Lead, Product Managers, Head of Strategy, and Team managers.
The purpose of the SHLM ART is to enable speed, flow, and quality in Vehicle development and consumers of product data, by developing and delivering digital solutions for engineers and developers within mainly R&D. The solutions are primarily based on the Teamcenter PLM platform, but also other technologies, including in-house built state of the art solutions, supporting the company transformation. The ART is a vital enabler for the company objectives related to technology transformation and becoming a software-centric company, where software is a core component for the business model.
Currently, the SHLM ART consists of 7 different digital products. Teams are primarily located on-site in Torslanda. For SHLM ART we are now hiring one more Team Manager with an interest in product and software development as well as strong leadership skills to support this exciting digital ART. To succeed in this role, you need to have a passion for leading and developing others, enjoy empowering people and embrace an agile mindset and culture. Your collaboration skills will be an asset due to many interfaces and collaboration needs both within digital as well with other business functions. Together with your Team manager colleague, you will be supporting the teams within the ART, where both holistic and long-term views will be needed. You will be responsible for three of the product teams within the ART.
What you’ll do:
As a Team Manager you will be responsible for:
• Inspiring and empowering others; developing people and teams through coaching, mentoring, and feedback
• Removing impediments that may hinder teams’ performance
• Energizing people: create an environment where people are motivated and happy
• Competence development for your team members; create an environment where people are challenged, invited to learn, and stay motivated
• People plan and competence map to match our product roadmap short, mid, and long term.
You are expected to support, challenge, and develop the organization and culture with focus on the members of your teams. You will also be responsible for staffing our product teams so that they can meet current and future demands and foster a strong software development culture in our product area.
Who you are:
We are looking for you who have previous experience in leading people, self-leadership and development, and experience in developing others by using coaching, mentoring, feedback, and stretch assignments supporting Volvo Cars learning culture. You know how to influence and organize people and activities into an efficient workflow, and you have an agile mindset and behavior. We see that you have experience and a good understanding of Agile Frameworks (e.g. Kanban, Scrum, Design Thinking, SAFe) to apply Agile ways of working, and good business acumen and shaping a competitive customer-focused culture.
As a person, you have strong communication, facilitation, and presentation skills, strong relationship management skills and you are effective in solving problems and making decisions.
