Axel Arigato currently has 6 stores, including London, Copenhagen, Stockholm and Gothenburg with more pending. Expanding from 2 people to now hiring over 75 members of staff in 5 years, Axel Arigato also operates a subsidiary office in London.

Axel Arigato is looking for a Tech Lead Developer who will be responsible for leading a development team and aligning our technical direction. You will be a member of the team that builds and maintains the company website and is responsible for ensuring that the data integrations between our systems are on par with the industry standards. This is a player/coach role. As a player, you will serve as a developer in our projects as well as act as a coach and lead the project onwards.

As a developer you will utilize HTML, CSS and JavaScript to develop effective user interfaces and take advantage of external headless services to build customer-facing applications for a global market. You will be critical in taking complex problems and creating simple, elegant solutions that elevate a world-class experience.

You will work with the UI/UX designer and bridge the gap between graphical design and technical implementation, taking an active role on both sides and defining how the application looks as well as how it works.

Axel Arigato’s internal development team has made a lot of improvements since the start but there's still a lot of possibilities to improve and choose which technologies we use in this ever-changing web application.

Responsibilities

• Identifying risks and forming contingency plans as soon as possible.
• Keeping up-to-date with industry trends and developments.
• Identify best practices and standardize them within the team
• Develop and maintain web-based applications, be responsible for coding and modifying the e-commerce platform and ensure a solid customer experience.
• Day to day work will consist of implementing new features and ideas in the frontend as well as maintaining and updating existing features on Axel Arigato’s website.

Qualifications

Must haves:

• 3-5 years of experience in tech lead or a similar role
• Good knowledge and experience in Javascript and Node.js
• Experience in creating responsive web-design with HTML and CSS
• Experience in working with React and Redux frameworks
• Experience in working with a e-commerce website
• Quick learner and the ambition to learn new things
• Ability to work with others, but also the capacity to work independently
• Experience in working with Vercel or similar cloud orchestration

Nice to haves:

• Experience in working with the NextJs framework
• Good knowledge of distributed version control system like Git
• Experience as a UX Designer, UI Designer or similar
• Knowledge of SEO principles
