Tech leader with a passion for democratizing data

Arbetsbeskrivning

WHY WE WILL LOVE YOU
Data Enablement technology is a new area within Ingka Digital and we are currently looking for an Engineering Manager to lead a team building the capabilities needed for democratizing our data.
Data and information are one of the most important assets for Ingka and IKEA. While the data can be used to improve our business, the data can also have significant value beyond just the day-to-day insights of the retail and logistics business. With the capabilities we provide, our data consumers can explore and find datasets to enhance their analytics.
The team you will be leading is delivering several capabilities for data sharing to our digital products teams and to the wider Ingka, enabling a wide range of analytics use cases.
We are also enabling the discoverability of data via the Ingka Data Catalog as well as the value creation from data through our self-service platform for advanced analytics deployment.
The team is a core part of the digital foundation at IKEA and the services are crucial to run our business - in order to sell and deliver out fantastic furniture and home accessories to customers across the globe.
REQUIREMENTS
We think that you love the mix of team leadership and coaching, together with setting the strategic direction and managing stakeholders across the Ingka Digital organization in order to drive the area forward. We believe you have worked in the Data area before and that you are passionate about democratizing and leveraging the power of data. Our colleagues from different cultures and backgrounds and we believe that you also value the power of diversity.
You are a people centric leader who love to lead, coach, and support a high performing team and you are great at engaging and communicating with stakeholders with the IKEA culture and values at heart.
You know how to deliver software and devops engineering from ground up and have good knowledge of design and architecture concepts (e.g. microservices)
You are curios and can lead engineering teams in an environment of digital transformation and constant changes to technology

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
You will be working physically and/or virtually in fully empowered and agile teams. Together with the Service Manager, Engineers and fellow Engineering Managers you will create, maintain and promote the roadmap, ensure optimized service offering based on the latest technologies and drive a competitive advantage for our consumers.
You will proactively enable transformation of your services and always strive for services based on a high degree of automation and self-service
You will ensure recruitment, performance, competence and career development of your team

TOGETHER AS A TEAM
We’re a small team consisting of around 8 people, plus consultants. We are quite autonomous, self-organizing and self-sufficient in many ways, which means part of our daily work is to define how we get things done together. We are based in Helsingborg but a mix of local and remote work is not a problem.
We are passionate about collaboration and the IKEA value of togetherness where we all work together to set the direction of the team and to deliver the best possible outcome. Anyone on our team can come with ideas on things to work on and we believe in the test and learn approach.
We value development speed and data driven feedback a lot, we are responsible for the things we build throughout the whole life-cycle, which means operations is an important part of our work.
Finally a question that has absolutely nothing what so ever to do with this position: What would be the worst “buy one get one free” sale of all time?
