Technical Animator

MachineGames is looking for an experienced Technical Animator to join our team

Responsibilities

- To act as the link between animation and programming for current and future technology and support.
- To act as the link between animation and character/creature art that requires rigging and skinning.
- To develop and establish pipelines used for taking characters, creatures, vehicles and any other animated assets in to the game.
- To create and maintain character rigs and facial animation techniques/setups.
- To assist production with problem solving across multiple disciplines.
- To R&D new tools, pipelines for character artists, 3d artists and animators for current and future projects.
- To be in charge of any hardware and software evaluations to possibly be used by character artists, 3d artists and animators.


Requirements

- 3+ years professional or related experience with at least 2 shipped titles where credited as a technical animator
- Excellent technical animation skills
- Excellent Motion Builder skills
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Excellent ability to work with others
- Excellent ability to code Python (Knowledge of PySide/PyQT would be an advantage)
- Excellent scripting/programming abilities (Python, MEL, C++, PySide/PyQT)
- Knowledge in Motion Capture
- Good organization and time management skills
- Good Maya skills
- Excellent oral and written communication skills
- Self-motivated team player with very strong work ethic and cooperative attitude
- Passion for making GREAT games
