Technical Area Manager - Wasa plant

We are currently seeking to engage a new Technical Area Manager that will be based at our crispbread bakery in Filipstad (Sweden).


Role purpose:
Your main tasks will be to, together with the team in your department, propose and implement planned technical investments in the plant, to work on the development and implementation of new technical solutions and to be responsible for maintenance throughout the plant. This can range from everything from a new production line to new layouts and major renovations of existing equipment. One of the prerequisites for success in the role is to establish a well-functioning collaboration with key technology resources within Barilla. In this way, the group's overall expertise in various technology areas will benefit the Filipstad plant.


Key Accountabilities:
Technical consultation and support of the production in all technical questions (e.g. investments, optimization, technological advancements), also taking into account operational and economic considerations by ensuring the continuous observation and analysis of relevant technologies, in order to contribute to the technical innovation and upgrading of the plants assets
Lead the drafting and approval process regarding the annual investment plan and to coordinate the collaboration with external service providers in cooperation with the internal stakeholders
Steer and monitor the maintenance cost controlling process in cooperation with Controlling and report deviations in order to follow the budget.
Ensure the continuous maintenance of the production, the timely execution of major repairs as well as the prioritization of assignments during disruptions in cooperation with other departments in order to minimize the downtime
Ensure the required supply of energy (electricity, steam power and heating oil) for the production site
Coordinate the bid process, commissioning and deliveries of necessary external technical services
Member of Plant Management Team and of Food Safety Team. Area of responsibility in FST defined according to S12.65 HACCP Barilla Filipstad (Food Safety Team)
Guide, motivate and develop the team in alignment with Plant overall objective



Your Profile:
Master of Science or equivalent degree in Engineering
Minimum 5 years in a managerial role within industry sector (preferably in FMCG) in an international environment
Previous experience in management of senior leaders and big teams
Experienced in leading culture change
Fluency in Swedish and English
You are eager to learn and grow further within the company
You are analytical, organized and used to working structured and detail-oriented.
