About the Role
We are building our dream game and are looking for a Technical Artist to come and join the team. We have some really fun technical challenges ahead of us and this is a unique opportunity to get a chance to experiment and push the boundaries of what can be done with procedural generation of assets for Unreal Engine.
With high demands on performance and a fun art style, this is a really exciting project for you as a technical artist to work on today and where you will be part of our passionate, very creative and ever evolving art team.
Focus Areas
Initially you will be part of a team dedicated to creating procedural character generation for Unreal Engine on a level that has not been done before. You will focus on experimentation and formulating to the engineers what needs to be built to accomplish our goals. As the team and project grows, you will be the champion of making sure artists' tools are state of the art while still keeping a keen eye on the performance of the runtime.
About You
We value our team and every individual is equally important to us. In this role we think a successful candidate should have:
- 5+ years of professional experience from working with Unreal Engine
- Shader Authoring and Maintenance
- Analyse and Improve the rendering Performance
- Art asset implementation and Optimisation knowledge
- Create tools for artists in Unreal Engine
- Experience with some programming or scripting language
- Experience with Blueprints in Unreal Engine
- At least one modelling and animation tool such as Blender, Maya, or Houdini etc. (Using Blender as your major software will be a big plus)
It is also beneficial if you will have experience with:
- Knowledge of creating particles and VFX in Unreal Engine
- Familiar with modular and procedural workflows
- Willing to learn new skills, and adapt to new software and workflows.
- Startup game development studio experience
About the Employment
The position is permanent, starting with 6 months of probationary employment. You can work from our Stockholm office, fully remote or hybrid. It is important that you are able to communicate unhindered in verbal/written English and that you can work in a timezone close to Stockholm (CET 0-3 hours).
For this position we do not offer relocation assistance.
