About the role
As a Technical Artist, you bridge the worlds of the artist and the programmer, acting as an interpreter and problem-solver. It is crucial that you have excellent interpersonal skills in dealing with differences between creative and technical teams and you are proactive and able to work well without any direct oversight.
Your responsibilities will be to support artists by ensuring they have the tools they need to do their jobs. As well as being the driving force pushing the tools and the pipeline, you will be in charge of improving the art pipelines to ensure that stunning results are achieved, while keeping efficiency at its peak.
In the role of Technical Artist, you’ll work with the art, tools, and engineering teams to devise solutions and workflows. Your ability to analyze and plan will help the studio develop the tools to support the art teams in production while working with our in-house scripting language. Together with the art team, you will develop and maintain maya tools using python; test and debug tools and processes to ensure pipeline stability. You will also be responsible for VFX in production as well as assisting in creating shader-based solutions for the art teams.
Skills & Requirements
Experience with software such as Maya, Photoshop, or Substance Designer
Scripting knowledge (C#, JavaScript, Python)
Knowledge of how to work with VFX
Solid understanding of art and animation pipelines
Experience or understanding of rendering and post-effects, rigging and animation and physics simulations
Shader development experience (HLSL, GLSL)
