Ahlstrom-Munksjö Falun AB develops and produces high quality materials and filter products for laboratories, life science and health care. Our products carry a strong global brand, Munktell, established already 1815. Some products are included in medical devices and diagnostical solutions.

Job overview
To ensure the sales and profitability targets are realized for the Plant and the Business Unit by being the technical and product design interface with our current and future customers. Collaborate with the corporate R&D departments, marketing and sales functions as well as procurement in product development projects, supporting process and technical knowhow, feasibility analysis, test trails and concept evaluations. Serve as the technical contact person for some product lines and key customers. TCS Engineer is part of the local plant management team.


Key responsibilities
• In collaboration with Sales and Product Management assess and define customer needs, challenges and problems, and subsequently offer solutions in dialogue with production and product development in alignment with business strategies and market opportunities. Participating in customer trial, as well as follow-ups to ensure successful introduction of new products.
• Build and maintain a close relationship with our customers in order to gain knowledge and understanding about their production processes and the performance of our products.
• Build close relationship with relevant AM R&D centers to learn more about new materials, processes and technologies, and actively translate them to relevant local know-how for the Falun production sites. Take initiative and drive local process improvement actions, based on learnings from other AM sites as well as from the customers’ production units.
• Collaborate with Plant Production, Sourcing and suppliers to ensure right raw material, services and finished product quality and identify cost savings opportunities.
• Regularly monitor that product quality and specifications are met, if needed perform adjustments. Secure calibration and approvals of measurement tools and equipment in collaboration with the Quality and HSE Manager.
• Develop personal leadership and functional competency to achieve high customer value in alignment with AM strategies, core values and leadership principles.
• Responsible for product training for relevant functions, as well as building a new database for product monitoring and customer specifications.
• Ensure effective and timely communication to customer regarding complaints, claims and define corrective action plans, as well as continuously improving the claim handling process.
• Together with the production manager secure that relevant control and maintenance routines are in place ensuring products are manufactured to the specified quality levels.

Needed experience & competencies
• University degree, M.Sc in Engineering, Materials Science or similar.
• Knowledge of papermaking and/or converting processes.
• Some years of independent work experience as Product Designer, Development Engineer, etc.
• Work experience or know-how of Technical Customer Service and Product Development methods.
• Experience of continuous improvement methods and activities.
• Fluent in speaking and writing Swedish and English. Entitled to work permanently in Sweden.
• Strong analytical skills.
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal skills.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office platform.
• Some international travel is required.
