There are currently a lot of exciting changes and initiatives at Nordax Bank and we are now looking for a Technical Data Architect for our Data Engineering team. This will be a unique possibility to influence end-to-end data architecture, while not completely leaving hands-on software development. You will be a part of a fast-growing technical organisation in a collaborative, growing and entrepreneurial culture.
Nordax Bank is a leading Nordic specialist bank that offers consumers private loans, savings, mortgages and mortgages for those aged 60+, capital release loans. Nordax has about 300,000 customers, mainly in Sweden, Norway and Finland.
Ever since Nordax was founded in 2003, the company has grown and formed an organization based on great know-how and commitment. Through responsible lending, we help people make well-thought-out choices for a life they can afford. Since January 2019, Nordax owns Svensk Hypotekspension AB and then added capital release credits to the product portfolio and during November 2021, the acquisition of Bank Norwegian was also completed. With the acquisition of Bank Norwegian, Nordax has doubled its size regarding its loan portfolio and will receive another product in the form of a credit card.
About the role
Our Data Engineering team is currently expanding, and we are currently looking for a Technical Data Architect! You will be a part of IT and your stakeholders will be all over the organisation but mostly within Credit, Risk & Analytics department. The team is currently in an expansion phase with new architecture under design and several new data sources are being added. For the right candidate this is a good opportunity to help shape the technical domain.
Specific responsibilities include but are not limited to:
Microsoft Solutions; On premise and Cloud (Azure Services, MSSQL, PostgreSQL etc.)
Setting up data warehouses and/or data lakes, selecting technologies based on:
- DWH database, ETL/ELT tools, data modeling tools
- Number of data sources, data volume
- Data security requirements
Planning for implementation of big data systems, considering key factors such as:
- Number of data sources and data volume to be loaded into a data warehouse
- Future data flows, pipelines and requirements for a BI Solution
- Data security setup
Data governance management and data modeling
Setting up DevOps: source and change control management, automated CI/CD stacks and common software delivery patterns
Your Profile
To thrive and succeed in the role you will need a few years' practical experience working with the above responsibilities. You are passionate about technical solutions and modern software development methodologies, and act proactive in selection of technologies, solution designs, innovations and improvements. You have an eye for details yet being able to see the big picture.
We believe you also have:
Relevant academic degree e.g. civil or industrial engineering, computer science etc.
Are result-oriented and build strong relationships with stakeholders
Are an inclusive team player with a willingness to grow and develop
Are fluent in both Swedish and English and have excellent communication skills
Other qualifications that it is good to have:
Experience from the financial industry, or other regulated business
One or more DW, big data solutions and platforms other than Microsoft solutions (e.g. AWS, GCP, Snowflake & other On prem and Cloud solutions)
Data lineage setup and data catalogue tooling
Experience with TOGAF, and a mix of Business, Information Systems, and Technology Architecture
Reporting, Analytics, BI Tools (Power BI, SAS, Qlik etc)
Communications protocols such as: CDC, ODBC, JDBC etc. that support various data integration methods
