Technical Development Engineer

Akzo Nobel Surfactants Europe, headquartered in Stenungsund, produces surfactants for uses in a broad range of industrial applications.On a global perspective, Akzo Nobel Surfactants has a strong technology base in fatty amine chemistry and is one of the world's leading companies in cationic surfactants.Our products are widely used in industrial applications as asphalt additives, mining flotation reagents and also in cleaning & care applications as cosmetic ingredients.We are now looking for technically degreed individual who can fulfil the following key role for the Industrial Applications R&D Team.This is a permanent position on a full time basis. As a "Technical Development Engineer" you will give qualified technical support to our customers to strengthen and grow our business position.Working in the laboratory involves development of new products as well as providing technical support to our key customers around the world.You will support a business segment that provides products for emulsification of refined petroleum products like Bitumen.The position requires extensive international travel.Main tasks - Plan and carry out technical service support to customers and market organization - Participate in customer pilot trials providing our expertise in chemistry as well as running and servicing the pilot equipment - Contribute to the development of new and improved products as well as production methods Desired profile - Bachelor of Science in chemical engineering - Practical experience from servicing mechanical equipment is a merit - Fluent in English both written and spoken - Strong communication and interpersonal skills - Experiences from other cultures is a plus To be successful in this position you have a keen interest to understand our customer needs/problems, a genuine technical interest and you are practical and goal orientated.You enjoy practical laboratory work and solve technical problems in a creative way.As this is a global organization it is important that you can work independently as well as within a group, you are self going and a have willingness to get things done.As a part of our work for a drug-free work environment, we perform drug-test on all new employees
