YILPORT Nordic has grown rapidly in recent years. Investing heavily in our terminals and just finalized the construction of the first automated high-bay paper warehouse in the world, with an investment of 25 MUSD. As we are in an expansive phase with the building of a new container terminal in the port of Gavle, with an additional investment of 35 MUSD in infrastructure and 45 MUSD in equipment, we are now expanding the organisation with a Technical Director.

assignments:
As Technical Director you will have a key role in the company as head of the Technical Services Management team. With responsibility for a diverse machine fleet, ranging from forklifts to heavy lifting cranes, including new Rubber tired gantry cranes and STS cranes. You will evaluate information, design and develop methodologies used by the technical service team to improve the decisions made by Terminal Directors, Reginal Manger and Chief Technical Officer.

You will ensure that the services provided to the terminals meet the company standards for equipment, modifications and international standards for total cost of ownership. Included reviewing of internal and/or outsourcing concepts.

You will be in charge of the research and development of technology strategies for improved container handling equipment. While ensuring that the execution of all work is optimally synchronized with procurement and planning strategy. You will also support terminal development for implementing and retrofitting technology solutions to terminals and their equipment with a responsibility of 10 MUSD in OPEX.

Responsibilities
• Ensure all planned works are executed in accordance with Company and legislative standards.
• Actively reviews equipment efficiency, losses occurring breakdown, maintenance and short-term stop processes affecting efficiency so they are kept to a minimum level and can be done in the most cost-effective way.
• Review and assessment of used standards for new equipment to reduce total cost of ownership.
• Review optimal and adequate staffing levels for operational success of planning strategies.
• Ensure that all engineering work is performed to the highest standard to meet operational requirements and KPIs, SLA’s, in a timely and effective manner.
• To work in cooperation with our internal customers, by communicating with them and meeting their needs at the desired quality level and on time. Displaying a customer-oriented approach by fulfilling the requirements of customer satisfaction for requests and complaints from customers.
• To act in compliance with Environment and occupational Health and Safety regulations and company principles in all activities in the area of responsibility. 
• Prepare and submit coherent, accurate and comprehensive monthly department reports.
• To prepare and ensure that Opex's budget and timelines are met.

Qualifications
We believe that the successful candidate should have a relevant education in technology, mechanics or electrical engineering. You have experience in PLC and/or system programming and experience with operational management of cross-functional workforce.
You are a creative thinker, meticulous with details and analytical, a game changer. You thrive in a problem-solving role where your skills are put to the test. You are professional in all your contact areas and promote plans and ideas successfully. Furthermore, you are communicative, positive and systematic. You plan and make clear priorities; you collaborate effectively with others and share your knowledge and experiences. You are fluent in Swedish and English, both verbally and in writing.
