Technical expert Linux

We are looking for an Technical Expert Unix/Linux to Vattenfall IT
Vattenfall IT is the internal IT provider for the entire Vattenfall Group. Vattenfall IT fulfils an international staffing function that provides efficient and reliable IT services and support. Main locations with employees of Vattenfall IT are Germany, Poland and Sweden as well as the Netherlands.

Group tasks:
The Data Center department is responsible for managing all server and storage operations and provide basic services like active directory, mail, storage, backup, databases and SAP.
The Unix Hosting team is responsible for running all Unix/Linux servers and for developing the operation system masters. Team responsibility includes the following:
DC operation for all Unix servers with in DC and for all satellites
Server virtualisation
High availability solutions like clustered systems and disaster recovery protection
Operation concepts including operational-level agreements (OLA)
Hardware- and operating system evaluation
Design and deploy new services



Your main responsibilities as Technical Expert Unix/Linux:
You will operate / maintain the overall Unix/Linux infrastructure for the Vattenfall group from an infrastructure operations perspective and have the following job tasks:
First technical contact for Service Management and Vattenfall IT departments related to Unix architecture and solutions
Stay in close contact with application operation and in some cases with Vattenfall internal customers
Design and improvement of the current landscape as well as adjusting it to the overall common Vattenfall IT Data Center standards and designs (on-premise and cloud)
Project member of international IT projects / first contact for Project Managers
Coordinate and support daily operation and introduce new solutions; a close partnership to the Unix/Linux core teams spread out to different locations is necessary
Participate in on-call service



Your profile as a Technical Expert Unix/Linux
Academic degree with in relevant area or equivalent qualifications
Knowledge in Spark Solaris and x86 Linux operating systems and hardware is a plus
Good knowledge in ITIL and IT security
A proven ability to communicate with technical experts, customers and group governance
Experiences in technical projects and introduction of new applications and technologies in an international environment
Cloud concept (preferable Azure)
SaaS, PaaS, IaaS understand in Cloud environment
Very good English skills; Swedish, Dutch, German and/or Polish language skills are a plus

Location: Stockholm (Solna). Working in an international organisation requires traveling.
