What you'll do
You will be a technical expert in channel models, antenna properties, physical- and datalink layers of all wireless technologies, such as 4G/5G/6G, WLAN, BT/BLE, UWB, C-V2X/ITS-G5. In addition, expert in verification methods and system simulations of wireless technologies. You will work partly in Wireless COM team by helping to define how to use and verify wireless technologies in automotive context, base tech specifications, perform proof-of-concepts, support implementing teams and work towards suppliers. You will also engage across teams and units all over Volvo Cars when relevant, e.g. to support strategic decisions affecting wireless technologies and connectivity. You will collaborate with academia, research institutions and other external organizations through e.g. research projects, master theses, conference attendance and contributions, standardization work and industry associations as well as spread and share knowledge by teaching, mentoring, supporting and coaching.
Who you are
You wold carry a M.Sc. degree in Engineering Physics, Electrical Engineering, Computer engineering or equivalent with special subject in wireless communications and/or RF & Microwave. You would have a minimum 10 year work experience in wireless and/or automotive industries. Alternatively, a PhD degree in relevant field + 5 years work experience.
You would carry strong knowledge and experience in RF technology, channel models, antenna properties, physical- and datalink layers of 4G/5G/6G, WLAN, BT/BLE, UWB, C-V2X/ITS-G5 as well as knowledge and experience in verification methods and system simulations of wireless technologies. You will have strong theoretical background in Wireless Technologies, RF & Microwave engineering.
You bring experience in ECU design of wireless systems in an automotive context as well as experience in working in research projects (VINNOVA FFI, EU projects etc.). You will also bring experience working in an Agile Organization.
You should have high motivation, self-driven, and a team player who possess good social-interpersonal skills. You are a great communicator and excellent cooperation skills. You have a holistic view and conceptual thinking considering both technical- and business values. You have high integrity and professionalism as well as builds trust.
