We are now recruiting a Technical Information Specialist to be located in Gothenburg, with the curiosity and passion to contribute to our future products.
Job Description
As a Technical Information Specialist, you are an important link between Volvo Buses and our end users: workshop mechanics, Volvo Dealers, rescue personnel and others. Your mission is to communicate technical information that is approachable and easy to understand. As the world around us evolves, so do the needs for technical communication. Today we provide information through the Volvo exclusive application Impact, but we are preparing for tomorrow’s even more digitalized services.

Together with your colleagues at Service & Parts Assortment and Engineering (SPAE), you will develop our way of working and the service market solutions of tomorrow.
Main activities and responsibilities:
In the early stages of a project, analyze scope and identify technical information needs
Work with service and/or technical engineers to plan and draft technical information.
Prepare text and graphics for technical information, layout information and graphics in a form that is easy to understand and is consistent with publication- and illustration style guides.
Submit prepared technical information for review by selected technical engineers, legal department and other stakeholders.
Acts as local expert on specific publication types within your responsibility.
Profile:
Bachelor’s degree in related field (Technical Writing, Communications, English, Mechanical Engineering or equivalent.)
Minimum 2 years aftermarket experience with truck/bus or transportation industry
Minimum 2 years of experience in writing mechanical, electrical and technical documentation within the automotive segment
Experience with and knowledge of various software packages including word processing, SGML language and vector based illustration software (Corel Draw, Adobe Illustrator, etc.)
Interpersonal and analytical skills
Holistic view, ability to drive improvements, work cross-functionally and build relations
Strong English, communication, planning and coordination skills.
