To further strengthen our Sensor packaging team in Gothenburg, we are now seeking a Technical Laboratory Engineer! Maybe it’s you we are looking for?
Our Sensor packaging team is responsible for developing hardware solutions utilized in smartcard-based payment systems. This includes recommending the appropriate packaging technology, evaluating adhesives and other critical materials, running engineering builds at Asian or European sub-contractors, exploring coating options and executing reliability testing. The team is also creating new packaging concepts for next generation products, supporting new customer engagements, as well as developing reference designs for smartcard systems.
What you will do?
As a Technical Lab Engineer within the area of fingerprint sensor packaging, you will spend significant time in our sensor packaging lab. Your main duties will be to test fingerprint sensors during the development phase, with respect to a variety of parameters such as sensor functionality, coating characteristics, environmental durability, and mechanical reliability. The work is done in different test setups to induce user simulated stress, to confirm that our products meet the required standards within the industry. Primarily CQM which is part of Master Card approval process.
As a Technical Lab Engineer you will also be involved in failure analysis of sensors, coming from both development projects and customer field returns. You will perform cross sections and use external labs for x-ray, SEM and more when needed. You will also be asked to summarize and report your findings in a thorough way. All work is done in close cooperation with talented and friendly colleagues in the sensor packaging team.
Your key responsibilities include but are not limited to:
• Write test plans and related documentation (SOP documents, reports)
• Embed sensor samples in cards (smartcard) using in-house prototype line
• Perform in-house CQM tests, wrapping, bending etc according to existing standards
• Mounting of specimens in epoxy, performing cross section studies with Optical microscope
• Abrasion testing, water contact angle tests, UV tests on different sensors coating
• Running functionality tests on sensors using various software
• Perform inventory of lab chemicals, assist in the maintenance of the lab and its instruments
• Be involved in the purchase of consumables (gloves, goggles, chemicals) and equipment
