Technical Operational Support Analyst

Department: DSC Technical Support ? Region Europe Reports to: Region Europe P&S CST IS/IT and Support Manager Location: Eskilstuna, Sweden Summary Volvo Construction Equipment ? Region Europe Sales & Marketing have a strategy to migrate it?s owned distribution from an iSeries based ERP system to a Microsoft Dynamics AX based solution. This will present quite a challenge to the organisation both in terms of user support and the necessary technical adjustment required to develop skills in both areas of technical infrastructure. The role will suit someone with knowledge of the Microsoft server environment and some development experience with Microsoft related infrastructure and application development tools. The candidate will be seeking to join a support team tasked with the challenge of helping the organisation through this transitional period and beyond. Main Responsibilities: Support team colleagues and business users with Dealer Management System (DMS) related support calls Gain an effective knowledge and understanding of relevant distribution systems, to a level whereby you can offer effective key-user support Support key users within the distribution business areas with system and integration related issues Provide user support for the infrastructure required to access Volvo CE systems Perform business system maintenance routines relevant to the integrity of software systems Develop solutions to assist business users with the analysis and understanding of business information Develop and maintain system/application documentation to a standard that will enable independent understanding of the system Contribute to the development and testing of periodic application and system upgrades, to include all relevant materials and implementation plans Provide development and support to projects related to DMS activities Develop training plans, tools and materials to support the relevant end-user training Provide business user training in support of developed and related application systems Take active participation in business-user group meetings in order to get an understanding of future requirements Required Skills & Experiences: A good understanding of business processes with logical system and business analysis skills Experience in an IS/IT environment and proven programming skills Knowledge of Web development technologies i.e. HTML, Java Script, CSS, .Net etc. is required in order to provide quality application business support. Exposure to RPG/ILE, RPG/400, CLP and net.data is a plus Relational database management skills with an awareness of, Microsoft SQL, MS/Access and iSeries Query Knowledge of general database management reporting technologies ? such as Microsoft SQL, Business Objects, Crystal Reports or QlikView Operating system experience with Microsoft Windows Server, awareness of the IBM iSeries operational environment is a plus A good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Professional suite of applications, experience with Microsoft Dynamics products is preferred Willing to learn new applications and techniques Proactive and able to prioritize activities effectively Effective team player who is articulate, logical and able to operate well under pressure Strong English verbal and written communication skills, Swedish language preferred, other European language(s) will be advantageous If you are interested in this position, please apply online with an updated CV and cover letter in English
