Technical Product Responsible, Surface Division
Surface Division (SRD) develops, manufactures and markets rock and exploration drilling equipment. The machines are used for various applications in civil and geotechnical engineering, quarries and both surface as well as underground mines worldwide. We are looking for an experienced Engineer with a broad technical interest who enjoys working cross functionally to reach the best results. You will play a central and active role in all our activities within Continuous Products Improvements, New Product Development and Basic Development.
This role will give you a great exposure to technically advanced products used by demanding customers around the world. You will have the opportunity to join us on our journey to a more automated future within our field.
Your mission
In this role you will have the technical product responsibility for part of our product portfolio. Your mission is to secure that the products and their different configurations fulfill all technical and legal specifications and also secure the products reliability and competitiveness during the entire life cycle. Your main responsibility areas will include coordinating or supporting all product related questions regarding the present and phased-out products. You will secure proper handling of ongoing activities to fulfill the product specification, safety and legal requirements with proper risk management.
You need to understand and work for the fulfillment of customer needs in different applications. The role also includes close collaboration with our Product Managers in the marketing department regarding current offerings and the future. Furthermore, you will secure that needed documents are available for new, present, and phased-out products. You will chair or participate in relevant product improving forums/meetings. You will also be the receiver of the results in the line organization in our Product Development projects and you will approve -or disapprove change notices or deviations relating to the products.
This is a wide and outreached position including many internal cross functional contacts but also externally with sales companies, customers, other Epiroc sites around the world, suppliers etc.
Your profile
To succeed in this role, we believe you are result oriented, structured and independent with an openness to changes along with a proactive approach. You have a strong personal drive and extensive analytical skills. In addition, you are a cooperative team member with great interpersonal and communication skills, and you understand the importance of collaboration and working cross functionally to reach the best result. Your work is influenced by your innovative mindset and customer focus.
You have a university degree within the area or other qualified engineering background along with at least six years of experience from technical product development with similar complexity as our products. You have experience from performing risk assessments and interpreting of laws and regulations. Experience from software development, automation, mechanical, electrical, pneumatic or hydraulics is meriting. You have a general knowledge and skills in project/product management.
Since we are a global company and you will communicate in both English and Swedish, it is required that you have very good skills in English, verbal and written.
